Event Overview

The 6th Annual Joint Fires Summit will convene senior leaders from the Department of War, the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Services, acquisition organizations, academia, and industry to examine how the joint force is modernizing fires for contested, multi-domain operations. The 2027 program is designed to move from strategic context to operational execution, beginning with the delivery of integrated fires capability and the development of a resilient Joint Fires Network, then advancing through targeting modernization, munitions production, AI-enabled battle management, space and missile defense integration, expeditionary maritime fires, non-kinetic effects, and resilient space-enabled command and control.

The challenge facing joint fires is no longer simply how far a weapon can reach. In a contested battlespace, success depends on finding the right target, sharing information across services, and delivering the right effect before the opportunity disappears. Defense Strategies Institute’s 6th Annual Joint Fires Summit will bring together leaders from across the defense community to examine how the joint force can strengthen every link in that chain.

This year’s discussions will look beyond individual platforms to the systems, people, and processes that make integrated fires possible. Sessions will examine advances in long-range precision strike, artillery, munitions, and air and missile defense, alongside efforts to connect sensors and shooters through the Joint Fires Network. Speakers will also address the practical challenges of testing new capabilities, using AI to support targeting and decision-making, and combining kinetic fires with cyber, electronic warfare, and other non-kinetic effects in complex operations. Attendees will hear firsthand from warfighters across the joint force on programs, capability gaps, real case studies, and key insights on where the Joint Fires Community is steering. Featuring dynamic panel discussions with speakers from a wide variety of commands, organizations, companies, and perspectives; this year’s summit offers a unique pulse on joint fires.
