Event Overview

Defense Strategies Institute’s 2026 Joint Fires Summit will bring together members of the Department of War, Combatant Commands, acquisition authorities, industry, and academia to advance the development and delivery of next-generation surface-to-surface precision fires.  Because the United States has a keen interest in increasing the range, effects, and lethality of its fires capabilities to achieve overmatch against adversaries, the 5th Annual Joint Fires Summit will focus on the need to continually develop and modernize its fires capabilities to deter and defeat adversarial threats.

In order to stay ahead of adversaries rapidly advancing their long-range and precision fires capabilities, the United States is modernizing artillery, rockets, missiles, and munitions.  Defense Strategies Institute’s 5th Annual Joint Fires Summit will convent key leaders and stakeholders from across the joint fires community to discuss how the services are collaborating to develop and field next generation surface-to-surface precision fires.  These advancements aim to enhance range, targeting, lethality, and overall effects of fires systems.

The 2026 Joint Fires Summit will feature sessions examining how the Department of War is building a fires force that is lethal, modernized, and adaptable to the evolving global threat landscape.  This year’s Summit will highlight ongoing efforts to deliver an integrated Joint Fires Network (JFN) that accelerates the sensor-to-shooter connection to enable rapid target identification, detection, and engagement.  Speakers will explore the JFN’s key role in supporting CJADC2’s goal of delivering a common operating picture that combines sensors, platforms, and munitions across the services and all-domains for real-time battlespace awareness and command and control.  Speakers will address investments in air and missile defense systems designed to address capability gaps and boost deterrence against adversarial weapons.  Sessions will also spotlight innovations and emerging technologies enhancing both direct and indirect fires capabilities as well as joint training and exercises that improve the ability to operate and succeed in anti-access/ area denial (A2/AD) environments.

Attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights from senior leaders shaping the future of U.S. fires capabilities and leave with a deeper understanding of the programs, policies, and partnerships driving modernizations across the fires force.  Join us at this 2026 Joint Fires Summit to network and collaborate with colleagues from across the DoW, federal government, industry, and academia on the future of integrated, interoperable fires capabilities

DSI’s Summit will provide a forum to address and improve internal and external initiatives, meet with and hear from partner organizations, disseminate vital capability requirements to industry, increase visibility within the larger community, and generally support their mission.

The Summit is open and complimentary to all DoW and Federal employees and is considered an educational and training forum.

(Industry and academia members are charged a fee for admission)
